Clifton Nurseries

When Clifton Nurseries first started designing gardens back in the 1960s there were very few, if any, businesses offering a comparable service to Londoners.
The resulting gardens, many of which still exist from that time, were distinctly the work of Clifton and the then design and build team of Vic Shanley and Mike Miller.
The look was modern classical, drawn from the range of plants, pots, statuary and sundries sold at the garden centre and with an idiosyncratic tinge that gave them a character of their own, and which became known as 'The Clifton Look'
