Augustinergasse is a street and a tram stop situated in the Lindenhof quarter of Zurich near Bahnhofstrasse and Rennweg.

In the Middle Ages, it was a small street within the town of Zurich, leading from St. Peterhofstatt at the St. Peter church, passing the former Augustine monastery below the Lindenhof hill, towards the Kecinstürlin gate at the southern Fröschengraben moat.

At the current junction of Augustinergasse and Bahnhofstrasse; Bahnhofstrasse itself following the course of the 13th century Fröschengraben moat.

Augustinergasse was the home of medieval artisans. Beginning in the 17th century, rich factory owners settled there, resulting in an open 'competition' for the best facade. Tourist highlights are the numerous carved wooden bay windows of these colourful houses, along with some mostly tourist-oriented shops, coffeehouse's and restaurants.
