Zurich - Schanzengraben-Promenade
The city of Zürich lies in the heart of Europe and at the center of Switzerland, on the northern shores of Lake Zürich. The Schanzengraben, former military defense system, now offers an idyllic, green, marked with historical plaques promenade through the middle of the city from the train station to the lake. The promenade starts at the Gessner bridge and into the lower part near the water over wooden walkways and sandstone slabs, along the zigzag line of the former ski jump, passing the 1864 built Männerbadi to bulwark "to Katz" with the Old Botanical Garden . The proximity to the water produce a distinctive architectural design. The promenade leads finally to the lake outlet at Bürkliplatz.
Awesome photos from what must have been a completely amazing trip. Great job making me feel totally jealous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Harold ! Nice to see your comment, I had a long fight with Blogger and this blog template to make it works removing all type of things for making comment a little more easy to post. So I'm happy that you are able to comment even if my post was very long this time ! Have a nice week end !
