Dijon is a city in eastern France, and is the capital of the Côte-d'Or département and of the Burgundy region. Dijon began as a Roman settlement called Divio, located on the road from Lyon to Paris.
Les Rousses is a commune in the Jura département in the Franche-Comté region in eastern France. Lac des Rousses is located on the territory of the commune.
The city is crisscrossed by lovely, low bridges. On the left bank are the Altstadt, the grander, genteel pedestrian zone of the old medieval center; the Hauptbahnhof, the main train station; and Bahnhofplatz, a major urban crossroads and the beginning of the world-famous luxury shopping street, Bahnhofstrasse.
